Hello lovelies!
English Language is another big one, so we didn’t want to leave you hanging.
Whether you’re doing AQA or Edexcel, Paper 1 is all about how well you understand and craft language—so here's how to make the most of your final revision time.
✍️ 3 Last-Minute Tips for Language Paper 1
✅ 1. Read Like a Writer, Not Just a Reader
In the reading section, when asked to analyse language or structure, focus on how the writer creates effect—not just what happens. Ask yourself:
What language/structural techniques are used?
What’s the tone or mood?
Why has the writer done that?
Tip: Zoom in on one powerful word, phrase or image and dig deep—don’t just list techniques.
🧠 2. Plan Creative Writing Before You Write
Give yourself a few minutes to plan your structure for your creative writing. Whether it's a story or a description, think:
What's my opening image?
How will it shift or develop?
What’s my final line?
A well-planned response often feels more polished and scores higher for structure and control.
🔁 3. Practice Pacing with a Paper
Tonight, take a look at our papers and do just one or two questions under timed conditions. You might even just plan what you would say, and then watch our walkthroughs to see what we said!
You don’t need to do the whole thing—just practising your timing, planning, or one strong paragraph can make a big difference tomorrow.
