Us again. Can you believe you’re nearly free of another WHOLE subject? English Language Paper 2 is up next, and then you’re done with it!

✅ Final Tips for AQA English Language Paper 2
🗂️ Know the difference between the texts
Paper 2 is all about comparing writers’ viewpoints and perspectives. Make sure you:
Identify each writer’s attitude and tone when you first real the sources.
Use quotes + techniques to support your points
Compare consistently: use phrases like ‘both writers…’, ‘however…’, and ‘in contrast…’
📝 Know the structure
Q1: Quick and accurate
Q2: Evidence to summarise, then inference
Q3: Language analysis (zoom in!)
Q4: Comparison (viewpoints, methods, tone)
Q5: Non-fiction writing (article, speech, letter BUT PLAN IT FIRST!)
✍️ For Q5: Plan before writing
Decide on your argument, tone, and structure before you start. Whether it’s persuasive or informative, having a clear plan makes a huge difference.
